Ronald G. Perrier is a professor emeritus of theatre and film studies at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he taught for 27 years. During his more than 40 years as an educator, he had over 50,000 students in his classes at the senior high school, community college, and university levels. His courses covered a wide variety of subjects, including theatre history, dramatic literature and criticism, film history, and genre studies in film. He also directed 75 theatre productions and is the author or editor of 11 books, the latest of which is Persistence of Vision: The Life Journey of a Gay Man - A Memoir (2008). He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota.
